Don Orban, the founder and president of Midwest Retirement Advisors, is focused on helping clients work toward their retirement dreams through a well-thought-out strategy for retirement income. Don holds his life, health, accident and securities licenses in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas and has been featured in many highly recognized media publications. Don’s biggest passion in life is being able to positively impact people’s lives and his desire to do that is the foundation upon why he became a financial planner and began Midwest Retirement Advisors.
Don attended Emporia State University as a speech major on a debate scholarship. He believes that good communication is at the core of every successful client relationship. In 2005, began his journey in the financial industry, serving as a state general agent for a large insurance company. He returned to the Midwest in 2008 to be closer to aging relatives and considers it a privilege to have helped them plan for their retirement years. He truly enjoys helping people live life to its fullest while gaining the confidence that comes from knowing their wealth has been protected. Don learned at a young age that the greatest happiness in this life is held in being able to give to others.
Don is a student of the financial industry, prioritizing staying up-to-date in order to better serve his clients. In a fluctuating market, Don invests his time and money to learn from the top advisors and economists. Nevertheless, he credits his knowledge to his clients and the vast experience they have given him through their own wisdom and kindness.
In his spare time, Don enjoys traveling; spending time with his wife, Amy, and the beautiful family they have built together. Don has a daughter who lives in Missouri and a son living in Dallas, and his two youngest kids are both still under his roof. His favorite moments happen when they are all together, camping or fishing. Don is a certified high school athletic coach and one of his greatest passions in life is being able to coach 3rd and 5th grade AAU basketball teams. He has had the privilege of impacting the lives of many of the young athletes he has coached, who have matured into successful young adults. Having the opportunity to invest in his community’s youth has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
